The Fifth Replies of Descartes Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The Fifth Replies of Descartes - Essay ExampleThe Fifth Replies of Descartes The argument in question is the argument of Discourse. The problem with this counter argument is the inherent bias. There is a antecede and theres a conclusion if one accepts the premise the conclusion essential be accepted. Rene Descartes says that he knows he exists it is inherent that he knows what he is and what his nature is, it is the very definition of establishing his universe of discourse. This knowledge (of existing) ratnot be separated from the knowledge of what that existence is about. This point can be elaborated through an example for instance one sees a bottle of water. His eyeball tell him that it is there. Since this person has the premise that what his eyes see is in fact real (or existing) it means that he knows that the bottle exists. When he say that it exists it means it has certain properties that indicate that it exists. No one can say that something exists without acknowledging t he properties. Existence without the knowledge of its properties is even more illogical than deriving a conclusion that existence of self also encompasses the nature of self. When Ren Descartes say that he thinks therefore he exists, it means that he is aware of what he is and what his nature is. Otherwise there is no existence. Every existence has its properties be it divine part like God or as trivial as a plastic water bottle. The objection of Descartess claim rests with the understanding of premise. If the critics accept the premise when Rene says that something exists, he also bases this by understanding some properties.

In relation to optimal number of nurses as an unmet need, omit of relevant skills among the few available nurses as a threat necessitates availability of funds to facilitate the ne eded training programs. The third resource in this context is partnerships (Sare and Ogilvie, 2010). To implement action plans to address the weaknesses and threats and build on the strengths and opportunities, a multidisciplinary approach is needed. Partnering with both internal and external stakeholders is also important in order to get in the needed support. Fourthly, technology (Sare and Ogilvie, 2010) is also a critical resource in this context. Efficiency of services in a healthcare institution is highly traceable to technology. Throughout the world, there are almost 1.1. billion users of the Internet as of 2006 and half of them reside in Europe and Asia (Get ISP.info 2008).This number seems rather minuscular when considering that it only represents about 1/6 of the population. Given this, worldwide use of the Internet is expected to increase. ICT has provided a means for people around the world to intercommunicate with each other, but what price do we pay for such a convenience If only 1/6 of the world population is on the Internet, this suggests that either the proportionality of the population does not own a computer, or they are just not interested in the Internet. Either way, several people will be left behind because they do not have knowledge of the Internet or how it works.ICT has had a significant influence on the economy. The production of goods in the global market has increased dramatically, and more avenues have opened for trade amongst different countries. This, in turn, creates more jobs for people and higher revenues for businesses. These businesses also benefit from ICT because of the creation of E-business. E-business allows for information to be acquired and goods and services purchased via the Internet with increasing trust, speed and volume (Enterprise and Industry, 2008, p. 1). This proves to be a problem for those who do not have the necessary capital to grapple in such a market. What about small business owners who do not have the advantage of providing their services to global markets In this case, they may be forced out of business because the larger companies are far more advanced technologically (Enterprise and Industry 2008).ICT has also had a significant impact on how companies are able to market their services and goods. Websites have provided an easier way for consumers to shop and pay for their products online. (ERDF 2008). The formation of networks within businesses also provided a way to share arrest information via a server. Networks allow for pertinent information to be stored in a central location so that all employees have access to it. This also allows for businesses to maintain their competitive edge given that they have the most up-to-date technology and software. Staff also needs to be trained on how to manipulate new equipment in order to help develop the com pany, and provide quality services to its customers. Along with the impact that it has had on businesses, ICT has also contributed to globalisation. Emails, airplanes, boats, phone services, and computers have all made it easier for world countries to communicate and depend on one another. There are now more international laws and social movements that were formed based on

This therapy has its roots with Pavlov but became a create technique in the United States by B. F. Skinner. He used positive or negative re-enforcers to encourage desirable behavior and punishments to deter undesirable behavior. Originally, behavioral therapy groups worked with anger management and addiction (Ockrnik 2003).One of the specific types of Behavioral group therapy that came out in the 1960s was originally written by Marsha Linehan. This may be the most well known kind of behavioral therapy today. Originally, she developed a program, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), for patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. In the begi nning, it appeared to be quite effective and it was adapted to many other(a) type of diagnosis. This writer exit look at how effective this therapy turned out to be over the long term as well as the effectiveness of several other new innovations in group therapy.Behavior therapy in groups can be recognized by its emphasis on specifying problems and goals in concrete behavioral legal injury and in using principles of learning to facilitate behavioral change. Since it is generally assumed that therapy is a learning process, then there are some advantages in group therapy. Much of our learning comes through imitation also there are others to imitate. It is also known that learning takes place more quickly when the individual has something in common with the people around him/her. A group of peers would then be ideal for that purpose. One can observe and get wind what that thing does, or if one knows how that thing came to be, that is, it was created by another rational person to whom we can talk, there is a simpler way to ask. After years of periodical observation and questioning, it is this researchers common understanding that a business is an artificial (something created or put together, as opposed to natural, that is, existing in nature) form of social system of rules that fulfils three main goals it keeps the person who created it busy, it pro vides the same person some amount of income, and it provides a product or service that meets a need of a dower of society. At the start of the research study, this researcher considered these as the main purposes of a business, and as long as these purposes are met, the business becomes an ongoing and sustainable tie in as the income generated allows the business to continue in existence. However, once any of these purposes is not met, either the business ceases to exist or a new business with a different set of purposes is created. This is the intellectual position of the researcher. The research question for this paper is a variation of the same theme what is the business of business What is the purpose of a

IEEE Technical paper based on 1597.1 standard in Electromagnetic Lab Report

IEEE Technical paper based on 1597.1 standard in electromagnetic compatibility - Lab Report ExampleTo achieve this, we performed a series of shield effectiveness (SE) tests for a board level shielding product with different apertures by means of a reverberation chamber. An analytical shielding effectiveness formulation has been developed in comparison with the shielding effectiveness (SE) measurement results. When performing tasks link to electromagnetic shielding, Board Level Shielding (BLS) is widely used for isolating electromagnetic interferences. A typically perfect Board Level Shielding (BLS) is deemed to take over no apertures and it is fixed to the ground plate of the circuit board all round in order to reach maximum shielding effectiveness (SE). By introducing several apertures, we can be able to make the Board Level Shielding (BLS) lighter weight and increase its convenience. To evaluate the effect of the aperture size and the sum number of apertures on the shielding effe ctiveness, several tests were performed in the lab and a number of apertures of different sizes and the results obtained were compared. The results are processed and used to plot the corresponding shielding effectiveness (SE) data using calculation tools based on the shielding theory. The IEEE standard 1597.1 demands that we use feature selective (FSV) to compare the level of agreement amid the reference and the numerical results. In this method, the data sets are compared by decomposing them into two partsThis approach involves taking the overlapping portion of the two datasets and interpolating them so that they manage a coincident x axis location. A Fourier transformation is then used to transform this data. The two data sets are low (DC), band (L0) and naughty pass (Hi) filtered. The six elements are then inversely transformed. Comparing the trend data gives the Amplitude Difference Measure (ADM).Shielding effectiveness of an aperture

Studies and researches on diverse groups of English speakers Essay Example for Free

Studies and researches on diverse groups of slope speakers EssayIn lieu of the position language expansion throughout the globe, particular nation should really take the advantage of being proficient in the slope language however if it is non its official language. As stated earlier, the English language is wide known and use non only by the English-spoken countries but also by the world-wide community (Cheshire 2007). Thus, it is really an advantage if countries would learn how to speak and understand the English language. However, the inclusion of the English language in the curriculum of education of different countries is not really that simple. Moreover, the English language itself is being draft and constructed in a new structure depending on the finale, tradition and established educational method. Hence in a way, there is still a different way of using and understanding the English language. Shaobins English as a Global voice communication in mainland mainland Ch ina According to Ji Shaobin, the English language is a very important tool for the Chinese in baffle to have opening on the international scene. He argued that in this modern period, the language that is commonly used in the international scene is the English language hence China should improve their proficiency in the English language (2002).He said that in the ancient times China was against having any contact with the Western culture because of a fear that their Chinese cultural heritage might be contaminated (Shaobin 2002). However, such conservatism would not really help China in advancing itself economicalally and politically utter (Weixing 2003). Also, such attempt to close China from the influence of the English language became so impossible given the incident that in order to have a good international business transaction or any international affair, one should do it using the English language otherwise both parties would not understand each other. Moreover, China real ized that only through the use of the English language can they get through and have access on modern scientific and technological advances (Liu 2007). Besides, the English language is the language that is being used in economic transactions globally (Ross 1993). Hence, China was forced to recognize the importance of a foreign language that is the English language. In 1978, the reformation of the Chinese economy marked the total tempt of English as its foreign language (Shaobin 2002).With the consideration that Western companies and other transnational organizations may really help the economy of China, English was allowed to be used and practiced in China (Ross 1993). Due to overwhelming advantages of learning and using the English language, China included in its curriculum of education the teaching of English. much(prenominal) change in educational system facilitated the economic progress in China wherein state who have something to do with business and marketing were using t he English language to make business transactions outside China (Shaobin 2002).In addition, Chinese students, even if learning English was not really compulsory, were forced to reputation it since it has a great advantage on employment. There was an increase of need on English teachers who would teach the English language top the Chinese students (Shaobin 2002). And because of this event, even Chinese teachers were motivated to take English courses too. Nonetheless, China does not really intend to embrace the Western tradition. It is only the English language that they want to adopt. Evidently, China is rising as one of the superpowers in this modern era (Weixing 2003).Together with japan, China has truly made use of the English language to boost its economic and political aspects. Japan on the English Language and English-speakers The English Language has been considered as the second official language in Japan (Porcaro 2002). It cannot be doubted that Japan has a distinct culture and tradition as well as form of educational system that which is far different from other countries. However, due to economic pursuit, Japan realizes the importance of having a second language that other countries can understand.Japan uses the English to advance itself politically, economically and internationally (Marciamo 2005). The English language is widely used in Japan as public signs. Although, these signs are still printed in Japanese language, it is translated in the English language. Street signs, area maps, transportation directions, pack offices and banks signs are also translated in English. Such is made for the benefit of the tourists. It is a lot easier and practicable to translate those signs in the English language in order for the tourists to understand the signs posted in Japan (for travel convenience) (Marciamo 2005).When it comes to internet and websites, Japanese companies provide an English transformation of their websites. Further, the government of Japan and its agencies has also an English version of its websites (McMillan 1999). With regards to media and movies, Japanese films are shown with English subtitles (Marciamo 2005). There are also bilingual programs that are being simulcast and shown in the national TV channel of Japan in Japanese and in English (McMillan 1999). Major newspapers and magazines are also printed with English translations.Japans curriculum for education includes the teaching of the English language (just uniform China). The Japanese government makes English a required subject. All Japanese schools include English in their education program (Saito, Nakamura, Yamazaki 2002). However it is not the face that all Japanese are proficient in the English language in writing and speaking of it. Yet, it shows that Japans proficiency in speaking the English language is rising (Marciamo 2005). Moreover, the Japanese language is said to have an increasing character of having assimilations on the English language (M arciamo 2005).But then, it does not chase that all English speakers worldwide can understand the Japanese language. Only that the English language is being used extensively by the Japanese people in their everyday activities and dwellings (Stanlaw 2005).There is no other country but Japan where the English language has a special status (McMillan 1999). As mentioned above, it does not follow that all or even most of the Japanese can speak and understand (Marciamo 2005) English. Hitherto, Japan is one of the countries which regard the English language as an essential means to communicate with other people of different culture, race and tradition.
